What a day...

September 20th will go down as one of the most fun autumn days of my entire life. We spent the day cruising our fixies around from skate spot to skate spot around Gunnison filming for our upcoming video short "Autumn-topsy." We got some great shots and it was really really fun... here are some of the shots from the weekend...

Fun of friends
Well I have had an amazing weekend full of adventure and fun, it was homecoming weekend and we here at Western State College take our sporting events very serious...(NOT)... it was fun I was supposed to go snowboarding for the first time, but the cars filled and couldn't do, so instead today my buddies hosted a skate comp, and I was the official photog of the event, I will post pictures soon...Here is a picture from 4th of July, we did however have fireworks at school, I just didn't shoot any... enjoy...

September Showers bring smiles
For the last couple of days here in Gunnison the afternoon rains have been coming in, and it has been awesome. The chilly nights and rainy afternoons only bring thoughts of the upcoming winter and hopefully that means it is snowing in the mountains. Here are some pictures from yesterdays micro photo shoot. This is shot on campus on a decent sized step down right on the frisbee golf course. Sean and Justin are featured, they are both usually known for their sweet snowboarding skills, but the homeboys can throw down on the bicycles as well. Look for more pictures of these guys, as I got the go ahead to shoot with their production company all winter. It is going to be a fantastic winter...

Welp, its been a while, and I apologize for that, but life at school has been very fun and meaningful. Yesterday it was cloudy and chilly all day long and it made me feel like I was in Seattle (or at least how I picture it), and the chilly morning and nights are making the winter skin come faster than I thought it would, which is awesome. The upcoming winter is plaguing my mind, I am watching snowboarding videos off the wazoo, jumping on the sketchy trampoline in the backyard learning balance, control while flying, and of course some sweet new tricks, and to top it off I am trying to learn as much about photography as I possibly can so this winter will be epic. There are a lot of different photographers out there, and they all have great insight and wisdom to share, it is a really cool industry I think. I am really pumped, more pumped than I have ever been for winter, once winter happens I will be posting a lot of my work, until then here are some pictures from last winter... Chase Moore jumping over a trail map sign, and the other is the view from my backyard back in Pagosa Spring, have a super day and think snow!!!

Trust
The very core to a friendship or anything actually is trust. The trust between best friends is a beautiful thing; one of the very best attributes of having a best friend is fully trusting in the other person, without a shadow of doubt in the character or their very own skill sets. It was fun to go out the other night on a pool skating photo session, and watch my great group of friends interact and get stoked off of each other. The encouragement they showed each other is a very rare attribute to find in young men these days. It was getting dark out and Justin tries a new idea, only to look over at one of his best friends and say "I want to ride over you, you down?" and without a second hesitation drew sits down, and the trick is complete. It is only through the trust and friendship that they have with each other to make such neat things happen. Five minutes later Drew decided to one up Justin and ride over two people. It was a sweet night! thanks boys!

People See it a little differently...
As the winter is approaching, and the nights are becoming cooler, it brings out a different side of people, some are dreading the upcoming colder temperatures, others the snow and harsh driving conditions; but I am super excited for the winter, and just the very idea of strapping on a shred stick ( a snowboard for all the non "bros" out there ) is getting my blood pumping with the anticipation of the white "love" falling from the sky. My mind is racing with new ideas for video shoots, trying to find ways to afford new photography stuff, getting a new set-up, and looking at all the possibilities and new ideas where to slide on the slippery stuff. No matter what your feelings on winter are, it's coming quickly, and that is a glorious thing! Thanks for reading, I will try to do this a couple of times a week!
